Elizabeth Claire Rogero, 77, lifelong resident of San Mateo passed away on Tuesday, February 2nd,2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Andrew Rogero and Claire Ramsey Rogero, her brothers, John Albert Rogero (Rose Ann), Thomas Theodore Rogero, and her nephew, James Andrew “Andy” Rogero. She is survived by her nieces Rebecca Rogero McKenzie (Larry), Margaret Claire Rogero-Hastings (Jason), and nephew, Joseph Alan Rogero, sister-in-law Norma Lowe Rogero, plus her grand-nieces and nephew, and great-grand nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a blessing to her family and loved spending summers at the beach, riding through the woods, Krystal hamburgers, kittens, kisses, and receiving $1 bills from her family. Upon greeting you, Elizabeth would look at your purse or pockets so that she could have her $1 bill, not coins, but the paper bill. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her brothers. As the baby of the family, her brothers doted and spoiled her. One of her favorite things to do with Johnny was to go to the Putnam County Fair every year and enjoy the lights and people watch. It was a special time for each of them, and they would spend hours there together. With Tommy, she enjoyed taking his car keys to go riding in his car so they could find a new baby doll or toy truck. Elizabeth also liked holding, if not squeezing, Tommy’s hand whenever next to him to ensure she had his full attention. Neither brother could say no to her. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time at the ARC where she attended the day program, along with her beloved Donnie, and eventually moved into Silver Lake Group Home with other differently abled friends. There, she had an extended family with Rocky and Warren who kept her laughing and smiling. To the staff at the ARC who lovingly watched over her, the family extends their gratitude for your care, compassion, and dedication. Tenesha Johnson, Monica Heinecker, Wendy Underwood, Donna Lee and Candice Brown, you meant so much to Elizabeth. There are no words to express how much you meant to not only her, but also to us. You provided safety, love, and laughter to a very special woman who has always had our hearts. We can not thank you enough for the time you spent with Elizabeth and how you loved her like your own family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ARC, 1209 Westover Drive, Palatka, FL 32177, in Elizabeth’s name.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. Due to concerns with the Covid 19 Virus, all attending are requested to wear a facial covering when not social distancing.
Private graveside services with the family will take place at a later time at West View Cemetery in Palatka with Dr. Jeff Bebe officiating.
